Nowadays, people are already appreciating the power of make up. While others go for the heavy looks, many people still choose to approach make up for natural look. For everyday look, sometimes we have to look for products that are more accessible, less expensive, but still have that gorgeous and blooming look. Sometimes, we just want that ‘wake up like this’ look.
So I’ve tried using this ‘Clay Blush’ by ‘Loved by Mommy & Zy’. Here’s my honest and full-disclosure review.
Note: I am not paid to do this.
Pros and Cons:
1. It’s multi-purpose. I didn’t expect this, but for everyday that I’ve been using this, it’s like color corrector/highlight/eye shadow/contour and blush all-in-one. For those who don’t know me, I have acne marks and scars all over my cheeks, and seldom I get acne breakouts too. But this clay blush helps me even the tone in my cheeks. My new pimples would look flatter too, so I am not that much stressed anymore if I get a breakout. I also mentioned that it’s like a color corrector too because it does not only blend so well but also buffers the color differences in my face. I apply it on my cheeks, my upper eyelid, the bridge of my nose, the area between my chin and lower lip, and in the hairline in order to have that 3-Dimensional bloom.
To make it more natural like glass skin, I set it with loose powder in the areas where I don’t want shiny, especially those oily areas then set it with setting spray, then lip gloss (or whatever you want). If you want that highlight glow, you can re-apply the clay blush on those area you’d like to pop up ,and voila!
3. Packaging. In terms of packaging, you can always bring it with you and not care if it might spill or broken. It’s very travel-friendly, but what I got concerned was that... it doesn’t have a label in terms of expiration date or how many milligrams (mg) it has. The shade is also written in the back so you have to flip to see or open the products if you bought two or more shades.
3. Skin-friendly. I haven’t had acne breakout with this product yet, so that’s very nice, considering I have a very sensitive skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, but for oily skin, you have to control the oil. Though honestly, the glow it gives is the ‘healthy glow’. And unlike the liquid lip tint, this one is easier to apply. You don’t need to apply much force in your face to spread it. It may feel sticky after applying but you can fix it with a little powder (compressed or loose will do).
4. It oxidizes. I didn’t notice this at first but when I tend to apply a lot (which by the way, you don’t really need to), I notice the color changing, WHICH I really liked a lot because it looks more like my skin tone. What I do is I let it sit for a while to get the color I want before putting another product/s on top of it.
4. It only has three shades. I bought two, but it has actually three cute shades; Tan, Wine, and Rosy. It's not so bad, honestly.
Personally, I would recommend this product. I actually love it. For those girls like me who are very stressed-out how to hide our imperfections, this clay blush is a must-to-have. Sometimes, those other blush products make our acne more obvious so it is scary to some. But then this product comes along and honestly... I’m speechless. That’s how much I’m liking it.
