HOLY effing water! It's not just for drinking!

Many people like bloggers and doctors suggest you to drink tons.. and tons of water. I am not to argue with that because they are right. But while they tell you this, I bet they forget to add this one vital instruction, which is going to improve your skincare routine - dramatically!

While you drink lots of water, here's what I suggest you to do to make that water more useful to you than before. You need to do this whenever you wash and cleanse your face.

1. Use warm water to wet face. Remember, you need warm, not hot. You don't want to burn your face. You can test the water with the back of your palm. The warmth of the water will open up your pores, giving way to that deep-seated dirt and excess oil to be removed.

2. Go on with your routine.

3. Use cold water to wash off the products in your face. Cold, not freezing. And as usual, you can check if you can handle the temperature of the water using the back of your palm. This step will close your pores, making you look younger and fresh.

Easy, right? This will not only improve the effectivity of your skincare routine, but also conserve the products that you use. You now only need ample products and be assured that you took all those dirty little secrets away from your face, thus preventing breakouts!

So simple but very important step... and yet, you have now more control over your breakouts! And what's more? You can also do this with your shower and bathing routines!

And as always,
Stay pretty.

Cathy Doll Acne Solution Serum Foam Cleanser: Review

For those of us who struggles desperately with acne scars, it can be so confusing among products here and there promising us to deliver result. And then we go and try them, only to get frustrated because it doesn't really work for us! Ugh!!

Believe me, I've been there! I had concluded that the price doesn't assure us that the product really works.  But that doesn't mean that you have to give up looking for that solution! You wouldn't want that acne to flood over your face!

But, girl, you cleared up your acne breakouts because you went to spa for facial treatment!

Nope. That's a huge myth! I may have had went there, but that didn't actually removed my pimples or acne. They just remove my blackheads, which I needed because I had a lot!

One day, I was just window shopping in a Watsons outlet. And there I found this very intriguing product - Cathy Doll Acne Solution Serum Facial Cleanser! Oh, man! I was so skeptical! I mean, can it really work? I've seen and used multi-purpose products, but most of them don't meet my expectations.

But because it only cost Php. 25, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. So here's my final honest review:

1. Packaging. The labels are complete; it has 12 mL. There is also the expiration date. But there are some labels that are in either Korean or Thai, so it's hard to understand. It also has cap (seal) for opening and closing, considering it is in pouch. That means you don't need to worry about spills anymore. You can also put it in your bag or pouch, or whatever.

2. Smell. I never saw or smell a tea tree, but this one has that green tea odor. I like that since it's very relaxing.

3. Salicylic Acid. If you are looking for a product for your acne-prone skin, then you should already know that you need something with salicylic acid. And this product has it.

4. Effectivity. Now, this is my favorite part! In the packaging, it says it is anti acne, for sensitive skin, oil control, brightening spot remover, and is has tea tree serum. That was a lot of promises! But truly, IT WORKS!

Yes, it does work if... and only if you follow the instructions! This is very basic, I know but hey, you have to admit there are plenty of people out there who don't.

So here's what I noticed.
-My acnes have lessen significantly. They only take less than one week and they're gone!
-My blemishes have lessen too. And if I get like one or two new acne, girl... they look less redder when I use this product!
-My blackheads and whiteheads are now even lesser too. I don't need to go the spa anymore! I don't have to go through that pain anymore!
-I don't oil up that much anymore! You really have to use moisturizer after using this, though.
-My scars are lightened, which is really great!
-I didn't feel pain or notice any peeling. Usually, products like this make my skin peel off, but this one doesn't. That's really great!

5. Is it organic? It has tea tree serum, but I am not going to consider this as 100 percent organic.

6. Recommended? Of course! Though I don't know if it works on people with dry skin, I think it really helps me to control my acne breakouts. Not only it makes my pimples go away ASAP, but it also makes them less visible by reducing the redness. I also like that my blackheads and whiteheads are less now. For only 25 pesos, this one really delivers results! I am already in my second pouch and I am planning to continue using this!

For those who are interested in this product, you can buy it in any Watsons outlet or in SM department store. I am not sure if it is being sold online, but you can go, check it out.

Stay pretty!

Review: Clay Blush by Loved by Mommy & Zy

Nowadays, people are already appreciating the power of make up. While others go for the heavy looks, many people still choose to approach make up for natural look. For everyday look, sometimes we have to look for products that are more accessible, less expensive, but still have that gorgeous and blooming look. Sometimes, we just want that ‘wake up like this’ look.

So I’ve tried using this ‘Clay Blush’ by ‘Loved by Mommy & Zy’. Here’s my honest and full-disclosure review.

Note: I am not paid to do this.

 Pros and Cons:
1. It’s multi-purpose. I didn’t expect this, but for everyday that I’ve been using this, it’s like color corrector/highlight/eye shadow/contour and blush all-in-one. For those who don’t know me, I have acne marks and scars all over my cheeks, and seldom I get acne breakouts too. But this clay blush helps me even the tone in my cheeks. My new pimples would look flatter too, so I am not that much stressed anymore if I get a breakout. I also mentioned that it’s like a color corrector too because it does not only blend so well but also buffers the color differences in my face. I apply it on my cheeks, my upper eyelid, the bridge of my nose, the area between my chin and lower lip, and in the hairline in order to have that 3-Dimensional bloom.

To make it more natural like glass skin, I set it with loose powder in the areas where I don’t want shiny, especially those oily areas then set it with setting spray, then lip gloss (or whatever you want). If you want that highlight glow, you can re-apply the clay blush on those area you’d like to pop up ,and voila!

2. Smells so good. One thing I like about this product is the smell. It has that fruity smell that even you would want to lick it. Or just eat it. So don’t let it get in the hands of babies and kids! It is so easy to apply. You might want to use your fingertips on this to get the pigment. Brush and sponge are not suitable for this product, so you need to prepare a tissue or wash your hands after using.

3. Packaging. In terms of packaging, you can always bring it with you and not care if it might spill or broken. It’s very travel-friendly, but what I got concerned was that... it doesn’t have a label in terms of expiration date or how many milligrams (mg) it has. The shade is also written in the back so you have to flip to see or open the products if you bought two or more shades.

3. Skin-friendly. I haven’t had acne breakout with this product yet, so that’s very nice, considering I have a very sensitive skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, but for oily skin, you have to control the oil. Though honestly, the glow it gives is the ‘healthy glow’. And unlike the liquid lip tint, this one is easier to apply. You don’t need to apply much force in your face to spread it. It may feel sticky after applying but you can fix it with a little powder (compressed or loose will do).

4. It oxidizes. I didn’t notice this at first but when I tend to apply a lot (which by the way, you don’t really need to), I notice the color changing, WHICH I really liked a lot because it looks more like my skin tone. What I do is I let it sit for a while to get the color I want before putting another product/s on top of it.

 4. It only has three shades. I bought two, but it has actually three cute shades; Tan, Wine, and Rosy. It's not so bad, honestly.

Personally, I would recommend this product. I actually love it. For those girls like me who are very stressed-out how to hide our imperfections, this clay blush is a must-to-have. Sometimes, those other blush products make our acne more obvious so it is scary to some. But then this product comes along and honestly... I’m speechless. That’s how much I’m liking it.
